Our Story
Located in the heart of Toronto at the Prosserman JCC on the Sherman Campus, the Leah Posluns Theatre is more than a venue- it’s a cultural hub where community, creativity, and connection come to life. Rooted in storytelling and collaboration, the new Leah Posluns Theatre operates as a dynamic think tank for innovative content and opportunities for the next generation while also combating antisemitism through educational town halls, speaker series, and allied partnerships.

A Legacy of Performing Arts
Established through a major gift from the Posluns family, the theatre has served for decades as a welcoming space for theatre productions, film screenings, music performances, lectures, and cultural festivals. Equipped with modern lighting and sound systems, a spacious stage, and flexible seating for up to 280 guests, the theatre’s capabilities reflect the Posluns family's dedication to high-quality cultural experiences.
‍
Leah Posluns herself was not a household name in the way some philanthropists are today. Yet her impact is felt by anyone who has sat in a theatre seat at Bathurst and Sheppard, applauding a community production, a school concert, or a visiting international artist. She helped ensure that the arts would remain accessible, community-rooted, and proudly supported in the heart of Toronto. Her legacy lives not in the spotlight, but in the stage lights.
