As guests arrived, they entered the Leah Posluns Theatre with wide eyes and anticipation. The theatre was transformed into a roaring 20's Speak Easy vibe with red toned lighting, custom lamps on tables, and musical sounds from the UK. Each table had items used by bartenders like shakers, shot glasses, mixers and of course - Baileys Irish Cream! This event brought young professionals together to hear David Gluckman, the creator of Baileys, talk about his journey in creating one of the most successful product launches in beverage history. David sat with our VP of Events and Engagement, Jeremy Cammy, on a stage that mimicked a British lounge.
The conversation was followed by an interactive mixology session, where participants learned to make 2 cocktails featuring Baileys - one being a crowd favourite, espresso martini. Live from the stage with an overhead camera, a bartender walked everyone through the proper way to mix, shake, and drink these beverages as 100 students loved and laughed through every moment. Rabbi Joshua, from Olami Toronto, tied the whoel thing together by explaining why we say L'Chaim and how we toast to eternity, to G-d, and to eachother - to live in this moment.
